I've done was extensive research online but I thought just to be safe to ask here to confirm.

My System:
Intel Core i5-2500K
GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB
EVGA GeForce GTX 570
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Corsair 750 Watt PSU

Everything other than the PSU (> 2 years old) was purchased in March new.

FACTS:

- System was working properly in the morning; I left for about 2 hours; when I arrived I
had a black screen and no video would show up at all (no bios would show or low res
screen).

- I pulled out the RAM and attempted to boot to make sure it wasn't my motherboard.
The PC started beeping so I concluded it wasn't my motherboard.

- The only way I was able to get video is by plugging directly into the on-board video
inputs on my motherboard; my GTX 570 was not showing up in device manager. I
reinstalled driver and reinstalled the card completely but I would not get any video
when I was plugged into the GTX 570.

- I put in an old 9800 GTX and everything works just fine.

I can only conclude up to this point that my GTX570 died; unless yous guys/gals think there is a step I'm missing. (Could this possibly be PSU related?)

I don't have a second computer right now to test the GTX 570 on a different system; which would be a key test at this point.

I appreciate your help and time you took to read through.

Could be your psu too, so i wouldnt jump the gun on the 570 just yet. 9800gtx probably takes considerably less power than the 570. But i'm leaning to the 570 but just to make sure... lol got a spare psu around?

Corsair seems to be pretty good at PSU's. IF everything else is getting power and working I'm not sure. Are the fans in your 570 spinning? Maybe it overheated or one of the ports went bad. Did you try both output ports?

You are on the right track. Looks like bad a 570 (dangit!). As you already know, a second computer would be ideal to verify. Got any friends with a good enough psu in their computer to run the 570? I'd let you pop it in one of my systems if you were local...

Thanks for the input all

Yes the 570 fans are spinning; I didn't try using the other ports because the 9800 worked just fine. I might ask around at work to see if someone would be willing to toss the 570 in their system and see if it works. If anything I might go buy a new PSU (could always use a backup anyway) and try it out then.

Try one of the the other ports on the card too before you get a new psu. If you can try to get one from Best buy and if that is the case I think you can return it, if the 570 is bad. Actually I don't know if Walmart sells PSU's they have a no restocking fee.
