Help!

My problem:

For every 3 seconds, the game hiccups for a split second.

What I've tried to do to resolve the problem:

1. Reduced processes in Task Manager(CTRL+ALT+DEL) from 24 to 17-no improvement.
2. Originally running at 1024x768 w/ no AA or AF. Then ran at 800x600 and set everything as "Low" in the advanced screen- no improvement.
3. Fast writes are turn off-no improvement.
4. Refresh rates were set at 85HZ and 75HZ-no improvement.
5. 9500 Pro has been oc'ed to 294 core and 294 memory-no improvement.
6. XP2100 oc'ed to 1810Mhz and still no improvement.

I understand that this game is very CPU intensive and being that I have only a XP 2100, I hope this is not the issue. Other than my CPU, I feel that I have adequate components to run this game seemless @ 1024x768 w/o AA or AF. I also have 1024 megs of DDR2100 (CAS 2.5) and I'm running the latest Omega drivers. Physical memory in the performance tab of Task Manager shows that I have approx. 776000k avail. 549000k system cache.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thank you!

It's a known error with Radeons. I would link to the Rage3D thread that details what exactly you can do to save it, but it seems to be down. :(

Try the official Cats.

It can also be a sound card issue.

Remove your existing sound card drivers. Get latest drivers from your sound card manufacturers web site. Install new drivers. See if that helps.

Mine did the same thing when I was running the Omega Drivers. I'd get random hiccups and even BSODs. Once I switched to the official Cat. 4.4 drivers, no more issues.

I'm using ATI 4.3 drivers (will update later) with fast writes off. No Problems here.

Get the latest ATI offical drivers (4.4)
Get Radlinker/clocker to overclock after you get it working.
How much free space do you have?
Make sure everything is shut off in the background.
Clean up temp space (temp, windows temp, internet explorer temps, etc)
Defrag with Diskkeeper (lite is shareware)
Swapfile (virtual drive) make it permenant.

Hope this helps,
