Need help: Computer doing the stop n' go... chuggin along....

Ok, I dont know whats up w/ my computer. After I start her up, whenever I run an application, say Outlook, or IE, etc... The app will hang. The computer will just sit there like I didn't run anything at all. Then after like 5 minutes, everything runs at the same time.

I try to run task manager but even that hangs..... After the little short burst of speed which last a minute or two... then it repeats... apps hang.... burst of speed. again and again...

last thing i recall installing was Catalyst 4.6 and Norton Anti VIrus 2004.. Gonna try to uninstall those and see sup.

Id eliminate any active user processes that you don't need first.

Check for spyware using the tools listed in this thread.
