I really appreciate you looking out for the resale value in the future, man. Seriously. But right now, I gotta pick the best I can afford and what gets me back to my editing as soon as possible. So, if something won't get me as much money back in 2 years, I can't really be bothered right now. I just read this other thing that said that if you're not gonna overclock, getting CPUs that give you that option is pointless when you're on a budget and that money can go on something else like a firewire card or something. Is that a fair assessment?IMO, it's just about a wash and you just as well get the K, but you could probably find a cheaper setup going with a non-K type such as the 2400 or similar.
reading what you wrote ontomshardware, i would go amd if editing is more important than gaming
mvbighead,
Editing>Gaming.
his budget is LOW
LOW budget go AMD.
so what if they arent on top? they still work perfectly fine. my friends AMD Build works amazing.
I really like this mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130602
what do you think of it?
What happens if I swap to a new card? Or if this one dies on me? How will I see anything? Why the interest in a built in card in the MB is beyond me, as you'll most likely disable it.

Hey,A mild overclock of an i5 2500k would be easy as pie, as there's nothing to it but increasing the multiplier. But an i5 2400 is cheaper.

only 8GB RAM, but you're pretty close to having enough $ for 16GB.
