Need help cofiguring Server drivers for Intel mobos

I currently have Server 2003 installed on 2 servers: one with an Intel D975xbx2 and another is using an Intel DG33FB.

Basically, when I want to install drivers for some of the components in these mobos, the setup tells me that the drivers I downloaded do not apply for my setup.
How can I edit the inf, etc to avoid this?

I want to move up to Server 2008, btw

I know now that I could have avoided hacking the drivers if I would have bought gigabyte, DFI, asus, etc but I was not aware of this. Worst part is that these are company comps and well, it is making me look like a n00bz.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Whats this about "artificially locking out the drivers"? To me it just seems that they never developed drivers for Server 2003.

You are correct in a way but the XP drivers should be able to work on Server 2003. They just don't let you do it unless you force it. Some folks online say that they have gotten it to work perfectly. Unfortunately, I didn't quite understand how they altered the infs.

I don't know how to alter the infs.

"Should" and designed to are two different things. If this is for a business production environment it would have been wise to have done more research before getting the equipment. I wouldn't want something in production running on a hack. I wish you luck in your hacking endeavors but you may just need to replace\add hardware.

What "components" are not working?

Thanks for the superfluous slap on the wrist. :p

They are terminal servers so it is not a HUGE deal but it is annoying.
I can't install the chipset drivers for the DG33FB, for example.

Yeah, just kinda irked me that it sounds like your trying to push the blame on to Intel\MS rather than just owning up to your mistake.

Well there was hope that if it was the NIC or RAID that a addon card would work but you cant exactly add a chipset.

Good luck...

... Crazy random long shot... Try running the installer exe in compatibility mode may not work but may fool the OS check that does\does not let you install.

I have had no issues running 2003 Server on my old D975XBX2KR board nor any issues running 2003 or 2008 Server on my DG33TL board. I used the Vista 64 bit drivers (for 64 bit Server 08) and it all works without any issues. I did NOT used the drivers from the CD but downloaded them from Intel's site directly and they all installed for me without any problems.
