Need HELP cleaning 2001FP Monitor ????!

I have had my 2001FP for about 2 months now, and I can't find a simple solution to totally cleaning this monitor and get NO streaking.

I cannot find a cleaner to totally wipe away all the streaking left from past cleaners I have used on the screen.....I tried klear screen, belkin (alcohol based) cleaner, and windex once(yes, it was a mistake) any ideas ?

I don't have my manual, does anyone know what dell specifically tells to use to clean this monitor ??

The manual is on the CD that came with the monitor.

Maintenance: Dell? 2001FP Flat Panel Color Monitor User's Guide
WARNING: To avoid risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the monitor cabinet. Users cannot service the monitor. User maintenance is restricted to cleaning.
NOTE: Before cleaning the monitor, unplug it from the electrical outlet.

To clean your antistatic screen, lightly dampen a soft, clean cloth with water. If possible, use a special screen-cleaning tissue or solution suitable for the antistatic coating.
To clean your Midnight Gray monitor cabinet, avoid using detergent of any kind. Detergent leaves a milky film on plastics; particularly the darker colored ones. It is best to use a lightly dampened warm cloth to clean the cabinet.
White powder substance, due to shipping, may appear on the plastic or near bezel edge. If you observe this, simply wipe it off.
Darker color plastics may scratch and shows white scuff marks more than lighter-colored monitor. Handle your Midnight Gray monitor with care.
Do not use benzene, thinner, ammonia, abrasive cleaners, or compressed air.

thank you, I appreciate that!

I have come to the consensus I need to use the klear screen materials and just press FIRMLY. Before I was just lighty wiping the screen, now I know I have to push a little more firm.

If it works well report back. Im sure others with this monitor would like to know. I havent touched mine yet...

Yes, after wiping for about 10 minutes straight, I have found that if you use water cleaning solution (do not use amonia or alcohol based) no matter what, it leaves some filmy streaks. I HIGHLY recommend klear screen www.klearscreen.com its only 9.95. But, keep in mind you have to press very FIRM.

I use a cleaning cloth with the solution on it, and I rub firmly onto the screen and really rub it in like your polishing your car. Then, use the klear screen polishing rag, and that takes most of the film off.

Hope this helps, its been a very frustrating month of trying different cleaning solutions and failing!!!! This one does the trick, just remember the keyword to this is "FIRM"

I bought a 3M Screen and Keyboard Cleaner from Office Depot for like 9 bucks . . .

It has a little squeegy type setup, and they demoed it on LCD with some fingerprints on it for me before I bought it . . . (just got done working on the copier so they helped me out). It seemed to do a pretty good job, to me.

The item number is CL680.

I use a 100% cotton towel dampened with a hint of water on one end, and a microfiber towel to dry and remove the streaks.
