Hi,

At the moment I have an intel winnipeg (D845WN) motherboard. Its old. the max. cpu it can take is a 2.6ghz chip. So I am looking to upgrade it. I came across a real cheap Asrock LGA775 recently. Its specs are really good (DDR2 ram, it can take intel pentium d, HT etc). then I read a review about this board on this website and apparently (althought the review was not very clear about the board's parameters) its not very reliable.

I generally use my pc for gaming, watching dvds, as a media centre etc. I need it to be fast and reliabel and it should be able to handle the best graphics programs and games with no problems.

Bearing all this in mind. The questions is would it be better for me to switch to the Asrok lga775 or stay with my old intel winnipeg motherboard? e.g. WHICH ONE IS BETTER?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Are you trying to use your old ddram? If you intend to use ddr2, go with a p35 or 965pe chipset board. If your old ddram is pc2100 or pc2700, go ahead and change to ddr2. It's fairly cheap right now.
