Need Help choosing Wireless Router Components

My Dad got a laptop at work a few weeks ago and brings it homw to do work occassionally...

Where he works, the company is completely wireless and he uses the laptop there to pick up from the WAPs in the building...

I wanted to help him be able to do emails and surf at home on that same machine. Questions:

1) I bought him a 802.11b Linksys Router from comp USA ($5 after rebate)... Can I use the laptops existing wireless capability with his existing laptop...? Or... Do I need to add a PCI card or a USB receiver?

2) If I have to buy a peripheral device for his laptop to accept the signal from his $5 Linksys WAP, would anyone recommend a USB type receiver (since it can be used on any computer with a USB port)?

Please help me determine what I need to get him up and running at home. Thanks!

Since the Laptop is already Wireless the Linksys would do.

However the Laptop configuration for work might be different than the one that would work with the Home system.

Leave the Work configuration as is, do not mess it up, it might be domain system with its own security.

Configure an alternative connection for home: http://www.ezlan.net/faq#fewtcp-ip
