Getting BenQ XL2420TE monitor for Xmas. This is a 1080p 120/144Hz monitor. Need help choosing video cards. What NVIDIA video card(s) will get me closest to 120-144 fps average on most games? i7-4770K CPU.

Considering GTX 770 SLI but not sure if it will be enough. Thanks!

Some of the games I play:

Batman Arkham Trilogy
Battlefield 3
Call Of Duty Black Ops 1 & 2
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (MOST played, found mods to get past 60 fps)
Titanfall (future)

Yea 770, or AMD 290, would be a good spot. You will not hit 120FPS all the time though.

Look at the 290 review, since it also has the 770 and 780 in it, and you can see that BF3 for example at 1080p only hits 84fps on the 770 and 87.9 on the 290. The 780 only does 101.

Congrats on your new >120 Hz panel.

NV video cards that will get you to 120fps average on most games if we're including the heavy hitters... none. No single card can do that.

In your case, I would go for GTX 780 Ti if possible and overclock them a little. Even so, BF4 will no touch 120 fps average unless you turn down settings (AA, etc.) somewhat: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/gtx_780_ti_sli_geforce_review,17.html

At a $660 budget you are better off picking up a GTX 780 or a R9 290 (non-reference) and adding a 2nd card later down the line or even picking up two 290s if you can stretch the budget by ~$140

I tried to go AMD before and hated it. Constant problems, besides I now have a monitor that is ready for Lightboost 2D. My options are GTX 770/780/780 Ti SLI. Just wondering what it's going to take. SLI is a tough pill to swallow. Although I read that microstutter is a thing of the past. Some games are supported and some are not. Beyond 770's though I would have to buy one card now and save for 2nd. 780 Ti SLI is not out of reach though but would like to see what 780 Ti 6GB is going to be priced at. Thank you all though for the advice. Appreciated!

Well it's an NVIDIA 3D monitor and so I will also be checking out 3D also. But I honestly did not know that Lightboost 2D could be done with AMD. I REALLY enjoy GeForce Experience game optimization and plan to use Shadowplay once I get all situated also. NVIDIA is my most favorite company in the world, not just for their video cards but for their innovative research also.
