i have a p133mmx 24mb ram yea i know slow but this particular type of laptop ram is expensive. i have win95 or win98 what would you install for this particular laptop. speed is important of course with 24mb of ram who am i kidding also i use this machine for work iam a teacher so i use office and internet and a grading program. that is it.

Windows 3.1, or just use DOS 6.22, but if are going to use 95/98, definately use 95, it requires a lot less resources.

BTW - you know this thread will be moved anyways, right?

EDIT:

I had a p166 32MB RAM desktop and that thing was sluggish on 95, you might want to invest in some RAM, or just get a new laptop. There are many new cheapo's on the market, like the Walmart Laptop, not bad at all for it's price.

I don't think that exists, maybe it does for mobile processors, i could be wrong.

Windows 3.1??? I don't think so. Win95 will work on a 386DX and Win98 a 486-66 (i highly would not recommend it though). Win95 would work just fine. Win98 would work but would be kinda sluggish with only 24MB of ram. I would recommend at least 32MB even for Win95 to run optimally. What kinda of ram does the laptop use? I have an extra 8MB 144-pin SODIMM i'm not using. You could also probably find a good deal for laptop memory on these forums.

Just sold my P133 Notebook with 32MB's and upgraded to 80MB's, W95 ran fine at 32 and very good with 80

W98 was painful 🙂

yeah 95 would be the best. 98 or higher would really bog the system down. You should really think about getting a new cheap laptop.
