I've been doing quite a bit of research and am looking for a good 1080p 144hz gsync compatible monitor 27" preferably . I've seen some nice asus ones but people saying they have horrible quality control. So I'm now thinking of a dell monitor. I found one on there site and am not sure how it compares to the asus panels it's model S2721HGF. the asus ones look alright. If someone can shine some light on this I'd appreciate it. Just don't want a dead panel upon arrival is all

ASUS VG279QM is a bit above that price (It's around $390 online) but is a good choice. I don't put too much stake into anecdotal experiences posted online and I think they're a good brand. If you are concerned about them, the LG 27GN750-B is a pretty good monitor as well and you can get it for $350. It's pretty similar to the ASUS display and both have refresh rates much higher than 144 MHz which may future proof them a little bit more. If you want to save money, the Dell S2721HGF will satisfy all of your requirements and is considerably less expensive the the other options.

If you want 1080p/144 Hz forget about 27 inches.

BenQ EX2510, Asus VG259Q - both have the same panel, from AU Optronics, but BenQ appears to be the best in terms of response time calibration/Overdrive, and has BenQ's DyAc+ technology, that gives you no motion blur, at the expense of slightly dimmed screen(250 nits in usage). And yes, its an IPS monitor.

$350 or so
If you have 350$ or so, you can easily look for 1080p/240 Hz IPS monitors.

Dell AW2521HF/HFL/HFA/HFLA
Asus VG259QM. Both are using exactly the same panel from AU Optronics.
