I'm kind of torn between going with one of the sleeker lcd panels or investing in a quality 21" crt. Since I'm actually going to be buying 2 cost is a factor in my purchasing decision. So based on your experience what would you go with?

EDIT: I'll be using my PCs for lan gaming (mostly RTS games) and some audio/video editing.

21" CRT..... With a fat wad of money to spare! Seriously, if you have the desk space to accomodate a 21" CRT or even 2 as you are suggesting, AND money is a factor then CRT is the only way to go. What is Dell selling their 21s for? $800? Can probably find a comparable CRT for $300

would the lcd be 21" also?? if so, i would go with the crt for money-wise..if it's a smaller 17 or 19 lcd, i'd go with the lcd..

If you have the space, getting an LCD is just stupid. I love my LCDs and all but they can't touch a high quality flat CRT. Contrast ratios can blow me.

Among other monitors I have scattered over the house I have two high quality 21" CRTs and a high quality 19" LCD. After getting the LCD a few months ago I am not buying CRTs anymore. Its much better in my opinion. A good 21" CRT will run you in the $600 range. A good 19" LCD is similiar price wise. The 192t I have runs around $680 or so now I think. I highly recommend it.

lcd. crts are ok for low end , cheap 19" is hard to beat mainly cuz its price/size ratio is so good. but 21"... thats too much money to sink into dying tech.

How much video editing are you going to do? Certian colors like reds for example can't be displayed on LCDs, they can just not well. Dell LCD which supports 24-bit color without dithering is getting closer to the clarity of CRTs. If your going to be doing a litte bit of video editing and you have the money to spare I'd go with two 2001 FPs. Otherwise, I'd stick with two CRTs if you want the most accurrate color replication.
