I already have a reciever and old sony prologic which is fine with me for now
I think I really only need two floor standing speakers or do I need to go with something else considering that I use the reciever to watch tv,and VHS movies I still haven't made the jump to DVD yet.
I thought about this
Linky

or maybe this
two floor standing JBL's N38's

or if anybody else has any ideas.
I like audio quality but right now I don't have to much money so I don't wanna spend more than $200 or so.
I know it's not much but, it's all I can afford :)

Ubid has some great prices on floorstanding speakers.

PLUS they have Klipsch Quintet sat speakers for $35 each! That is a great freaking steal!

I bought a pair of PSB Image 2B's a couple of weeks ago, and I have been very pleased. I learned about them in this thread.

They are supposedly blemished, but I haven't found anything wrong with them. They were $259 + shipping. (If you're nearby Upland, CA, you can just pick them up from the store.) I realize that's a little more than you were looking to pay, but I just thought I'd throw it out there. Let me know if you'd like more info. thread.

You'll get much better sound for $200 if you stick to bookshelf speakers, as long as you value sound quality over sheer volume. Something like these (the Atoms on that page) can be had without stands for under 2 bills, and are a good investment if you're looking to build a home theater (they'll make great rears when you can afford better mains.)

Those N38's are a great deal, esp. if you use the $10/100 coupon on each of them. You might also check out the JBL S26 speakers at JandR.com, $160 shipped for the pair.

Go to Circuit City and see if you can find some Polk Audio towers on sale or as an open item. You can get NICE speakers from places like uBid and Amazon. Check out Wharfdale, PSB, Klipsch, NHT, Infinity, stuff like that. JBLs wouldn't be bad either, but for heavens sake, not KOSS or KLH stuff. You might as well hook up an Aiwa mini system.

I bought some wharfedales and I am pretty happy with it. I just need to get some lower gauge wires to really test them out.
