Need help choosing CPU for a ASUS A8N-e

I'm between a 3000 winchester and a venice 3500 . The winchester is used, and the venice is new. I'm debating on which I should buy for my mobo in the title.Any help help is greatly appreciated. THX

I think that opteron is s940. I have a chance to buy a winchester 3000, or i could buy from a retailer here in town the 3500 venice core
my main quetion is if a 3000 winchester would be just good enuff for me , since the 3500 venice is more expensive. my Local retailer says i should get the 3500 venice. www.mocc.ca
Anyone have an idea on what i should do ?

i would get the 3500venice. has better memory controller then winchester also.

I really need some advice here peoples. Should I go with a 3000 winchester (used), or should I go for the 3500 venice core. Time is of essence here, I really don't use my system for anything special. I game alot and like to research, but I'm really stuck here on which cpu to get. I already have the motherboard, now I need some advice on a cpu to go along with it. Is there really that much performance boost between the two cpu's. Need some advice here folks, Thx

I agree. Get the 3500+ Venice.
