Hi everyone,

im building up a new pc, and im looking to buy something with the best price/performance average, Motherboard(100$-200$), CPU(PIV), RAM(DDR400), HDD(SATA), Graphics Card(ATI).

I was thinking on buying something like this:

PIV 2.8 or more (is Prescott any good??), i still dont know if its worth it
512 MB Ram 400Mhz, is this enought?
Seagate 80Gb Serial Ata 8Mb
Ati Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb
No ideas on the Motherboard, only some memories on the MSI 875

Many thx in advance, and sorry for posting for more them the motherboard =)

Tom's hardware guide is re-running an article on socket 478 motherboards today, showing that they outperform the newer socket 775. I would get the 2.8c p4 if the price is right. Intel is selling prescotts a little cheaper for a reason (heat issues and performance). Read the article and decide which board is right for you. Many recommend the abit is7 or Ic7, but I've never used them.
