Need Help Choosing a Physics Topic

I have to do a research paper on "The Physics of 'blank'", where 'blank' is any narrow/specific item of my choice that is studied in astronomy, astrophysics, or cosmology.
Do any of you have any suggestions on something that would be interesting and maybe perhaps a little different?

PS, this is a high school Physics class, so it's probably not going to be something very complex.

I don't know about "different", but there are lots of things in those fields that are neat:
white dwarfs
quasars
black holes
binary star systems
the sun (helioseismology, for example)
cosmic radiation
big bang & galaxy movement

physics of cars

explain how mpg drops off after you get past a certain speed, with a certain rpm, because of wind resistance, etc

black holes and singularities did it for me. The theory of spacetime and how its warped and creates gravity is another one but that goes along with black holes.

Gravity, time, and perception should be decent topics for high school. You can say a lot without using a single equation.

that last one seems quite interesting; i'll think more about that 🙂

Comparison of Lorentz relativity and Einstein's general relativity, why Lorentz was right and faster than light travel is possible.....You might even get a nobel prize outta this one if it's good! ;D
