Need help choosing a new HD.

I currently have a WD Expert series 7200 RPM 20.5 gb. I am thinking about getting something bigger to set as master and then using my old one for Linux. BTW is that recommended or should I keep them on the same HD?

I am looking for something with a little more space, but I want it to be a 7200 RPM. What are some of the nicer drives out right now. It doesn't have to be a WD, but something of that quality. I am looking for something in the 30 to 50 gig range.

Oh, a little ot from this thread, but does anyone know if the newest version of RH can detect geforce cards? 6.1 Deluxe can't and I'm had a hell of a time using it without the graphical interface so I just said screw it. Also, is it hard to install it by just dling from a website or should I buy the cd.

Maxtor DiamondMax 40+ is a nice 7200 RPM Drive. The IBM 75GXP is faster, but a bit more $$$ I think.

I think you can keep you OS's on a separate HDD, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the drive needs to be oc'ing friendly. Also, is there that much of a noticeable difference between Ata/66 and ata/100. Enough anyways that warrants buying an expensive expansion card?

Install off the net or BUY a cd? I hope you mean from linuxcentral.com or cheapbytes.com or wherever you can buy a Linux distro for 2-5 bucks. Don't buy a boxed edition if you already have 6.1 with manuals and all those goodies.

I like both WD and Maxtor, though my WD croaked last week 🙂 Free replacement though.
