Right now I have just a basic Microsoft optical mouse but I'm hoping to upgrade soon. I would prefer a wired mouse since I have had bad experience with the wireless ones. Right now I'm looking at 3 different models: the Logitech G5, Logitech MX518, and the Microsoft Habu. The Habu is more expensive but I kind of like it because it's shaped similar to the mouse I'm using right now; it does seem to have a lot of bad reviews though. Can anyone provide any advice on which one I should get or if there's another similar model? Thanks.

The DeathAdder from Razer looks pretty nice...

Sorry to be such a pain but what about a mousepad? Do I need any special mousepad to get any of these to work well?

To be honest, you're gonna have to make a trip to Best Buy or something and try out the mice to see which ones feel good in your hand and which ones don't. Personally, while Razer mice are appealing, I really don't like the way they fit in my hand. I'm a big fan of the G5, though, and especially the newer one, but I'll probably end up getting an MX518 instead, because they're cheaper.

Ok well I've ordered the DeathAdder and once I find a good place to get the Func 1030 I'll order it. I don't really like the G5 because of how large it is (I have a small hand and I really like the designs of Habu/DeathAdder). I also have heard about how hard it is to middle-click with the G5. If anyone has the rev2 of the G5, let me know if the middle-click is stiff and hard to use because I use it a lot. Also, if anyone has a good reason to switch, I can cancel my order on NewEgg until Monday since they don't ship on weekends. Thanks for the help and I'll be watching this topic to see if anything else pops up.

The Func surface 1030 looks like the perfect size for my area. I'm unable to use those humongous mouse pads because of my space.

i originally got a G7. after a while it started to skip. so i bought a razer eXactMat. it skipped on the control side. so i was guessing it was because it was wireless. soooo, i bought a razer deathadder, and after 5 days, guess what...its skipping at high sensitivity on the control and speed sides! Argh!!

anyone else having this problem? i was thinking maybe there was dust on the lens or something. not.very.happy.

on the plus side it looks and feels nice, but sux balls on cs 1.6
