Hello all,
I need your advise in picking a new 19" CRT for myself. As you can read here, my Sony CPD-G420s look the crap on me at 1600x1200 and I really don't like running it at 1280x1024. Sony wants to charge me $270 for repair because of an almost invisible scratch I put on it (I'm not sure how). I can get a new one at newegg (same model) for $394 w/ free shipping. I figure I'm better off just getting a new monitor and selling the old one myself.
So I need to know what the best 19" CRT is for $400 or under. My only set-in-stone requirement is a completely flat screen. I'd also like built in speakers (for the comps on my KVM switch).
Also, what do you think would be a fair price (w/o shipping) for my current Sony G420s (dual inputs, speakers, trinitron) that doesn't run at 1600x1200 without making a whining noise and has a 2 inch long mostly invisible scratch in the lower left hand region and also has one missing phospher that gives it a small (visible only on a white background) red dot in the middle. The missing phospher was missing when I got the monitor brand new.
Thanks,
Swan
