Hi everyone, Im starting to build a new PC come July 23rd...(Q6600 time
)
Anyways Im looking to build a good monster and I have chosen most parts that I am happy with but I cant figure out what Motherboard to buy.
I was initially going to buy the EVGA 680i sli a1 board, but opted out because i really want to put a Ultra 120 Extreme cpu cooler on it, and there not compatable with that board. So now Im looking into the ASUS striker extreme, this board looks nice and on most reviews ive read it has good performance and in gaming its usually superior to the EVGA though they both share equal qualities.
But Most the reviews are obv from december and some of them address issues with certain games and where the Asus has problems with certain games etc and so does the EVGA, but is it safe to say that If I went out to buy one today it would come with its revisions and not have these problems? Are there ways to look out for them?
Also Ive been out of the loop for awhile and some people prefer a different type of motherboard but I think for the setup im going for a Nvidia 680i sli board is best? Any advice??
Heres a list of components im getting:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 +Thermaltake Ultra120 Xtreme
2GB OCZ-SLI Dual Channel 2GB OCZ2N1066SR2GK 1066mhz
Pioneer DVR-212D
Western Digital Raptor 150GB 8MB SATAII 10krpm
EVGA 8800 Ultra
Cooler Master CM-Stacker 832
X-Fi card
Enermax Galaxy 1000W
Samsung 22bw display
thanks for any help!!!
