Need help choosing a Mobo

I've got my first build pretty much planned out, except for a small debate I'm having on a couple graphics cards. The Mobo discussion is a bit overwhelming though, they all seem so picky about what they're compatible with. Here's my setup:

Cooler Master RC 690 Case
Corsair 650TX 650w PSU
Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM 32MB 3.0 GB/s
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale
Corsair 4GB DDR2 800
Creative X-Fi Xtremegamer
Samsung Burner with Lightscribe
Acer X243Wbd Black 24" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 3000:1

Now I'm debating between these two cards currently. Opinions on what kind of performance increase I'd see with the GTX 260 over the 4870 would be appreciated.
Gigabyte Radeon HD 4870
EVGA GeForce GTX 260

Now, assuming I'm going to be using one of those cards, can anyone show me a couple options of Mobos I could go with for this setup? Price range is anywhere from $100-150, and if my motherboard is going to depend on which of those graphics cards I choose, could you tell me a motherboard or two that would be a good choice for each one?

ALSO, I've been reading reviews on several motherboards and I've been hearing about certain memory cards not being bootable initially with certain motherboards, and people having to use older/smaller memory cards to boot up and increase the voltages in the BIOS. Let me know if you know anything about my current memory choice and its compatibility with your motherboard recommendations because I won't have any easily-obtainable old ram laying around.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for your help!

i am liking the Asus P5Q-E , its in your budget at newegg. I was and still am torn between that and the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P. I have had good luck with Asus boards, never tried Gigabyte, but I have heard good things about them.
