What are the important things about a case for you then, if not airflow? Do you want it to be silent? Or just high build quality that will last long? Or do you want specific features like toolless installation, removable HDD cages, removable motherboard tray, fan filters?
I have the Fractal Design Define R3. It's a pretty nice case, not the best build quality but perfectly fine for a <$100 case. What I love about it is the flexibility in terms of compromising between silence and cooling. It's a mid tower but it has four 140mm fan slots and three 120mm fan slots. The 140mm slots are by default covered with removable noise isolation padding - this allows for the range of customization. You can either make it super silent with low-RPM fans and all that silent padding, or you can turn it into a cooling monster. It also has fan filters on the front 120mm fan slots, and below the PSU.
