Need help changing the IP address of a Linksys router.

I have a Linksys router with a built in firewall that has it's own IP address that it sends out instead of the one my cable modem uses. Is there any way that I can change the IP address that the router sends out? Could I refresh it or something? I have been having some weird problems with it and technical support suggested resetting the router's IP address but they didn't tell me how. Is there any way I can do this?

did they say to reset the router or reset the ip address?

if you are having "wierd" problems, then just reset the router, ie unplug it for 10 seconds then plug it back in. that "Reboots" the router

do the same with your cable modem at the same time
