I had an athlon xp 1.3 gig processor... i swapped it out with a newer sempron.... Cranked the computer up and now it's still detecting the old processor. Anyone know why this is happening.... Your help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Ok, look at pages 9 and 10 of your ECS KT600-A owner's manual. See the jumpers JP8 and JP9 that they show there. You want to cap pins 2 & 3 on both of them. This sets the CPU's frontside bus speed to 166MHz like your Sempron is wanting.

After setting the bus speed correctly, if the Sempron is still not formally recognized as a Sempron, but as "Unknown CPU" or some weird variant of AthlonXP, that means you need to update your BIOS or else just live with the mobo not knowing what your CPU's called.
