I'm writing this on my old pc because my new one won't run.

I had it working pretty good today so I decided to OC. I removed my cpu and unlocked the L1 bridges with a CircuitWriter from Radshak. I re-installed everything and decided to open J17 which is used to set the cpu FSB frequencies from 100MHz to 133MHz. I plugged the system in and blank... it wouldn't put an image on the screen. Then I tried to reboot and it did, but it did nothing. Just the light on the cd drive blinked. I went to shut it off and it wouldn't. I had to pull the plug. I tried closing J17. I turned it on again and blank. I went back after 10 minutes and blank, so I tried to reboot again, and it did. What the heck is going on? Could I have done such a poor job of closing the L1 that the power button is ignored?

In most cases when the system doesn't respond to the power switch immediatly you have to hold it in for 4 or 5 seconds for it to power down the system. If you put the J17 jumper back to it's original state and the system still won't start, try resetting the bios with it's jumper. If that doesn't work then clean off your L1 bridges and try restarting again or redo the bridges, but remember no shorting to the adjacent bridge. The L1 bridges should be 4 lines (or is it 5) of conductive material, not a blob. Good Luck

I had the same problem with my Epox board. Turns out that in addition to the L1 bridges being done you probably have to do your L-6 bridge as well. To check, with the board set at 100fsb try to turn up or down the multiplier to see if you L1 bridges are done properly. It will give you a message at boot up like 7.0 X 100 =700mghz. If you don't get that your L1 is not good. If you do get that and you try again at 133fsb and you can't boot, the L6 has to be bridged. The L6 on a 900 looks like this:
.||:: to reset it to a default multiplier of 7 make it like this .|||:
Now you should be able to boot at 133. If so shut down and boot again and set the multplier in the bios to whatever you want and your off.
7x133 will get you to 933, 7.5x133 will do 998, and so on.

Lance, I hope you're still around to respond to my reply. I think I did a good flash of .10g. afterwards, I set the multiplier to 7.5 and rebooted, or at least tried to reboot. The screen was blank. I think I'll just have to close the L1 all over.
