Not sure if this is the right forum for this, so please excuse if its a mispost.

I'm going to be redoing some walls soon and want to run a line for the new LCD tv were going to get. I want to run an HDMI cable and a component cable. I have heard mixed reports on how good of quality you need to get. The cable will probably be going 15-20 feet. Can someone recommend something that is not too expensive?

I have heard showmecables.com and monoprice.com have good prices. Any help would be appreciated. I dont want to have to open the wall up again in a few months if the cables are crap.

When it comes to HDMI, the concensus (generally) is that there's little if any difference between the $7 one at monoprice and the $90 one at Best Buy. Being a digital medium, "It either works or it doesn't". I am using plenty of $7 monoprice HDMI cables with ZERO issues and so are many others.

With component, I think it may be a little fussier since it's analog but even so... i'm not even sure I could tell whether my TV was hooked up with a cheap set or an expensive set. Besides, the component only carries signals (in my case) for things that don't require the best signal possible (PS2, SNES, etc) and everything else, my receiver converts into HDMI out.

In any case... monoprice will get you set up with good cables for cheap and it's rare that cables go bad. If you're going to bury them into walls, try and get CL2 rated cables... those are certified for in-wall use and won't get you in trouble with building and fire codes (not that they'd find out unless your house burns down, in which case you'll have other thigns to worry about anyway).
