Need help buying new LCD; 23" widescreen.

Lo all.
I'm looking to buy a new 23"+ widescreen LCD. As far as I can tell there are two main competitiors: The Dell Ultrasharp 2405FPW and the HP L2335 and HP f2304. The Dell uses a newer Samsung panel with overdrive as far as I know, which should make it suitable for gaming. My main uses will be gaming, watching movies and normal office work (word and excel). The thing that bothers me with the Dell is that Tomshardware noted in its review that it was too bright to actually do normal officework. A white background apparently hurt their eyes over long term use.

Also, do anyone know if there are any differences between the HP L2335 and the f2304 in terms of image quality? Do they both use the same panel and backlight, so that the only difference is that the f2304 has speakers, and the L2335 can pivot?

What should I get and why 🙂

Edit: CNET says that the f2304 is a poorer performer than the L2335...
 
I just got my 2405, and I can see how a lot of officework may seem a little bright, but you can reduce the brightness if that's what you're using it for...

Gaming wise, I'm very happy I switched from the 2001. I've noticed no ghosting.
your video card can definately handle it, too.
 
I do see that the Dell has quite a following on this forum 🙂 I'm still interested in finding out what the difference is between the two HP models (the L2335 and the f2304). Dell states that delivery will take 3+ weeks, and for practical reasons I want the screen by the end of next week...

I ordered mine last friday, it was at my apt in Brooklyn on Wednesday. Why is your quote so much more time? (that was the cheap shipping, too.)

My friend was going to order the HP L2335, but I convinced him to get the 2405 instead, so there goes any help comparison would get you.

The delivery time is probably different because I live in Norway. Dell delivers to us from Ireland (I think). The two HPs are actually a tad cheaper over here as well (talking about 100$ difference). Total price of the dell is about 1600$ in Norway these days, and thats cheap over here...
 
That would explain it, then.
the HP L2335 was $600 more here (where my friend was going to buy it from, anyway) than the 2405.
He happily spent the difference on a new video card.
 
I have a Dell 2001FP and 2405FPW. I really didn't look at any other monitors since the 2405 got pretty good reviews on its own. The final deciding factor for me was the 33% off coupon which made the 24" panel $803.33 shipped. 🙂
