Need help buying a Digital Camera

I've had an Olympus D-510 Zoom for a few years and like it but would like to get better picture quality, less time between shots, and more manual features. My wife takes alot of pictures for our web page and would like to do some large print outs too for family members.

or

Canon S500 for the small compact pocket camera.

I did a side by side comparison of the a75 and a80 and didnt find much of a reason for the a80 other then the megapixel. Am I missing something? The lcd swivels but it is smaller. What else puts the a80 over the a75?

Anyone wanna give more info on their recomendations? I'd really like a camera that I can pull out and take a shot quickly.

Im about to pull the trigger on:
Canon Powershot A75 Digital Camera [QNTY 1]
High-Speed 128MB Compact Flash Memory Card [QNTY 1]
DigPro Ultra-Compact Digital Camera Deluxe Carrying Case - DP900 [QNTY 1]
Sakar 3pc. Lens Cleaning Kit [QNTY 1]

258.95 shipped

anyone find a better deal?

I read Steve's review but this part is what turns me away from the camera:

"However if your family is like most, a camera will see most of its use for portraits indoors using flash; the limited flash range and poor auto focusing in dim light make the G400 a poor choice for this purpose"

Buy.com has the Canon PowerShot A75 for $215.64 - $15 off $200 new customers coupon = $200.64 with free shipping.

Also $25 free Ofoto.com prints.

I believe that an overlooked metric on digital cameras is shutter lag (the time it takes to take the picture after you press the button). On some cameras this can be near 1 second. While this doesn't sound like much, it is easily the difference between capturing a smile and a goofy looking face.

www.imaging-resource.com tests shutter lag

I like the Sony DCS W1 with it's .25 second shutter lag. With an MSRP of $400, it should be available for <$400.

Im not a new customer to Buy.com.

BuyDig.com (I bought my JVC gr0dm90u from them years ago)

A75 for 204 with free shipping. I got the kit with 128 card, case and cleaning kit.

I have this one right now and I am thinking about returning it. It takes forever to focus on something and pictures in low light come out bad w/ flash.

At this price is it better to go for the a75 then a80?

Yes I would buy the A75 and get some good accessories (camera bag, more media and quality rechargeable batteries).

Check out the HP Photosmart R707 camera. It's a pretty versatile camera with an excellent panorama assist mode. Here's a link to a review Link It's 5 megapixel and it's pretty responsive (It has a good sized buffer). I used to think HP cameras are garbage, but this camera and my Photosmart 945 have changed my mind about the newer HP cameras

Thats what I did. I researched it for a while and the a80 didnt have that much more to it that justified paying more. Effective pixels are 3.9 for a80 and 3.13 for a75. Not that big of a difference.
