Need help, buying a delorean

Ok for starters I cant afford a delorean. But i have a friend, and his dad has but 22k in this car. They will let it go to me for 18k.
But I am poor and in college. So I know that there are online sites and you can get 400 a month for having your car wrapped in an ad. I don't want to do this to the car, but hell I'd ahve a clean delorean in 5 years. Does anyone know where i can get better rates? I figure a delorean has more public appeal.

Really want to do this cause it turns out he wants to get a suped up ricer. I hate him. I hate him I hate him.

Ummmm...can you even get parts or have this repaired cheaply? What would an oil change or insurance cost on a car like that? There's more to a car financially than the payments on the car.

Participants must be 18 years old and must prove ownership of the vehicle and proof of insurance.

Participant must prove with a DMV printout that they have not received a moving violation in the last 12-month period.

Participant's vehicle must pass all federal, state and local laws.

Participants must sign an indemnification form at the time of installation. This will indemnify Autowraps and the advertiser if the driver acts in a reckless or unlawful manner.

Participants will sign a contract outlining their responsibilities and conduct during the term of an advertisement.

The vehicles paint must be satisfactory condition or willing to sign a waiver for damage to their paint job.

Participants must drive the amount of miles represented on their enrollment form.

Participants must park in the locations represented on the enrollment form.

Participants must park the vehicle in an outdoor location that can be seen by passing vehicles and pedestrians.

Participants must wash their vehicle a minimum of twice a month.

Participants must keep the Global Positioning Unit in an "on" position when driving.

Participant must inform Autowraps if the Global Positioning Unit is not working.

Participants must notify Autowraps immediately in the case of accidents, moving violation, 0vacations or defacement of the advertisement.

Participants will meet an Autowraps representative once a month to check the mileage and the advertisement.

Participants must have the advertisement removed at time of recall.

I would not drive a Delorean daily - you're asking for trouble.

Also, the finish is brushed steel - would the wrap stick to it?

For much less, you could get a classic car fully restored with better parts availability. I saw a 73 mustang w/ 351W V8 in PERFECT condition today for $14,000

If by some miracle you find enough money to buy this car you will never be able to afford the insurance required to use it as a daily driver. If that isn't bad enough parts for DeLoreans are extremely hard to find. The engine is a PRV6 (Peugot, Renault, Volvo) and parts are not easy to come by. If it braks finding someone who will work on it will be difficult and $$$$. Body panels are no longer available and the ones on the car are almost irreparable due to the nature of stainless steel.

Dreams are a great thing, but I think you better leave this one a dream.

What kind of shape is the flex capacitor in? DOes it still time travel at 88 or has it slipped to 95? THese are question you HAVE to ask yourself my friend!

there was this classic car dealer in my town that had a delorean parked outside for like 5 years it never sold. The seats were kinda messed up, and it wasn't in great shape. He let it go for 2500 bucks.

I believe that there is a site of a warehouse that bought every last part from motors to body panels. I couldn't tell you the costs just yet, but 18K is sorta expensive, I know someone looking for one also and they find them for 14K and are in great shape.

Don't ask me he's a back to the future nut. I just like the gullwing doors.PARTS

Is he the primary driver on the car or is his father listed as that?

Sounds to me like they only have liability insurance - I would want collision on any car for which I paid $18K.

A DeLorean does not seem like a competent daily driver if you can only just afford it with the assistance of &quot;AutoWraps&quot;. I guarantee you that thing will eventually fail to start or break down, leaving you in violation of your agreement with AutoWraps. They would sever your deal, leaving you on the hook for DeLorean payments.

No offense but this is a hare-brained idea.

1967mustangman: You paint De Lorean's to cover the bondo. Stainless is a nice idea that's just too hard to repair.
