Need help buying 2 new Laptops

Going to buy 2 new laptops for my 2 boys. ! going to college next year and 1 will be a junior next year in High School. What is the Best way to go ?? Thanks in advance!!!
 
that is the open question of all time! some high level points

Two spindle (optical, HDD - who needs a floppy anymore), 14.1 minimum screen (for the eye), full size keyboard (avoid those 90% sized keys), winXP (solid OS), and most importantly buy them both a bag that they like that has padding to protect the laptop - a couple of weeks in a std. napsack will probably kill it. Check the toshiba satellite line, dell inspiron 4100, ibm has a new R series that could fit the bill.

Dell is a pretty good way to go if you are looking to save money.

(Make SURE they understand it is not to be treated roughly and get the extended warranty.) 😉

You configure the notebook the way you want.

Dell "refurbished" is even more inexpensive.
