NEED HELP! Bought a usb data cable for my samsung v205

I bought this cable from one of those hongkong sellers on ebay (that's probably my 1st mistake haha). It was only $10 shipped.

Anyways, i plug it in, install the drivers fine and then I don't know what to do. I thought it would be like a CF reader or something, where I could just open a window and see which files I want to d/l to my comp, but I can't find any such thing.

Is there any other software I need to install? The cable didn't come w/ anything else besides the drivers CD. I just want to transfer my phone pics to my pc.

I needed to install EasyGPRS to transfer stuff between my Samsung phone and my computer over the USB cable...

Edit: The driver usually makes the cable appear as a COM port, which is what that software expects to be connecting to.

Ok, so I read that in the instructions....but then what? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do after I install the drivers.

I got the cable plugged into a USB drive and the other end connected to my cell.

Is there another piece of software besides the USB drivers I need to install? My cable didn't come w/ anything but the drivers.

Once you install the drivers and EasyGPRS you should just be able to open the program and transfer stuff... It's not going to be a Windows Explorer window type of thing.

Edit: try this link to download EasyGPRS, but I'm not sure if it'll work for you. Basically go to Samsung's site, the Support section, and the downloads section.

Hmm...ok that easygprs installed fine and I can do stuff w/ my phonebook and stuff, but nothing w/ downloading the pics from my camera phone. Anyone else know of what to do? thanks.

i did the same thing. bought both the usb and the serial cables... never got that sh!t to work. only way i ever got my phone to connect to a laptop was via IR (uploaded a new ringtone). those cables suck ass.

Not sure; for my phone it lets me transfer images to and from the phone, but mine's also not a camera phone and I'm not sure how it would work with those...
