I want to oc a duron 750 and doing it by upping the FSB to 133mhz.
The Bios agrees but Win98SE won't start. It reverts to safetycopy, i.e like it was as I fresh installed it but with all the extras non-working.

What do I need to consider with the equip I've got? Could the Graphics card have any saying? Is there a way to determine the AGP bus speed with my motherboard?
Any valuable insights?

Eagerly anticipating samples from your collected wisdom...

Increase the core voltage.. max 1.85v is safe but keep a eye on the temperature and be sure too cool it good !!
I/O voltage has little or no effect on overclocking only use this when you're having problems with your video card.
I have a Duron700 that will do 7.5x133 but then prime95 is starting to give errors so i had to backup to 957 :(

Depends on your MB because each mb reads temps differently. For a kt7 series board, 55-60C is usually the max.

Hi,

I've just stress tested my Duron a bit ;) And i'm now 101% stable at 966... 7x138Mhz.
My core voltage is at 1.8v, I'm currently running, while i'm typing this:

- Unreal Tournament in window
- Prime
- Sisoft sandra
- Via hardware monitor
- IE 5.0

And it is completely stable. prime95 doesn't show any error at all !! :)
My temp is 46c core and 33c system temp. I'm very happy with this setup !

Mike,

So i read your article.. but my conclusion (can be wrong) is that even with the 46c readout i get from the hardware monitor i still shouldn't worry to much ?!:frown:

Thanks !

Thanks for all the input. I think I have to remove the chip, whenever I try to change the multiplier, the screen dies on me and the computer won't do anything useful for 10 minutes. Is that typical if the bridges haven't been connected properly? I used conductive ink and did (what I believe) a pretty good job.

If you guys are out there, I redid the ink-job and now run at 7*133=933. Temp running UT is around 52. Voltage 1,8 I/O 3,7. Thanx for all help.
