Need help being game-stable over 933 on my 700e (CUSL2)

Right now I'm stable and playing games at 933 @ 1.75v using Micron 7.5ns @ 2-2-2-5-7 on a CUSL2(1002 Final) (WinME)

I used to have this chip in a P2B with a socket converter and it ran 784 at 1.8-1.84v for months so it's used to high voltage.
My questions:

I can't get CAS2 stability in anything higher than 133 FSB (it'll max at 143 running all Sandra benchmarks, but won't finish 3DMark2000 at anything above 133, even at CAS 3)

Would a better heatsink and thermal grease help me out? I'm running a GOrb on it's 3rd installation with the orginal grease.

My CPU temps are 34°C idle and 41°C full-load (PRIME95) and my board temp is always around 30°C

For some reason my Orb is always room temperature, even under load it doesn't get hot... Is this bad?

Please advise

If it runs fine at higher speeds at cas3 and only at 133 cas2 than your ram is the problem

But, it doesn't run fine though... It kicks me out of 3DMark2000 during the benchmark...

Example: I can run Sandra benchmarks all day up to 1000, but anything over 933 won't complete 3DMark...

I thought you get kicked out of programs when your processor can't handle it...

Toss the Gorb, get an Alpha PAL35T & std. fan will be fine along with some Artic Silver compound. Also if your Gorb is not getting warm at all it means Its more than likely not tranfering the heat off the chip, but the temps are very reasonable but can be misleading... With an expensive chip such as you have an investment into a better cooler would be wise... IMPO

Can anyone with a CUSL2 confirm what HSFs will fit? There are some tall capacitors nearby... Even getting the Orb on was slightly tricky

The Alpha FC-PAL35T is my replacement for the ArctiCooler. The Alpha went on with no problem at all. I put the little swivel part on first, on the side closest to the DIMM slots and then put the other part on the side closest to the capacitators.

BTW... P3 700e @1000mhz 1.65 Alpha PAL35T w/Delta
CUSL2 1001.a bios
Geforce 2 GTS 64meg

temps 33C idle, 43C full load

It fits like a glove...

Have you tried setting the SDRAM Driving to Strong in the BIOS? That usually helps out with PC133 SDRAM getting to higher speeds and more stability.

Actually i had it on strong at lower speeds because I thought it might cause instability at higher... I'll check it out

i've got an alpha pal25t running on my cusl2 and it fits perfectly, best hsf install i've had for a while. didn't even touch the capacitors.
