Need help beating Xan in final challenge of unreal tournament

I've been trying for a while and I can't win. Seems like he's always got the powerup that makes him almost invincible and I don't even know where that is. I have a rocket launcher and he still wins w/ a weaker weapon.

Here's how i did it:

1) Always use the flakcanon
2) Just keep running laps around where the shield belt is and run above where the invisibility belt is. Don't stop, just keep running.

This way you always have a good chance of getting the armor/invisiblility first. And with the flakcanon you can run away from, face backwards, while shooting the flak down the hallways. So the flak pieces bounce off the tube-like walls and hit him. I killed him 75% of the time without seeing him. The flakcanon ammo is below, so every so often you will have to grab that, but then keep doing laps.

3) Then drink a bunch of brewskies (if you're over 21 of course)

I realized that I was better w/ the flak cannon than rocket launcher. I was up 4 nothing and 6 nothing but he always comes back to win. I freakin shoot him a billion times but his one hit always takes off almost all my health :|

Tell me about it! He is the ONLY thing I haven't beaten in the TWO FRIGGIN' YEARS since UT came out. Every few months I fire it up to see if I can beat him and after getting my ass handed to me (a good game is when I'm not in negative numbers!), I skulk off for a few more months.

I've been up to 10-nothing before and still lost, aint it great!
I haven't played the game since I beat him, all about CS now.

He's good. When I first played him he was killing me. I noticed that he often had the flak cannot and I typicaly starred right into it's barrel before I whent to pices. I was down about 13 to nothing then. I started using the flak and I always ran aroung to get the shwild belt. Well I just punished him, chased after him and at close incouners he was the one who whent to peices. Whell, I pressed the wrong button when the score was 14 to 13 and fell from the ship. And then I respwned at 13 to 13 with two kills to go aggain. Licckily he did not get me when I was weak so I got the flak cannot and the shild belt ad when after him aggain. When the score was 14 to 13 once again I gat him into a corner and I was at full strength and he had no weapon to seriously hurt me so he jumped from the ship I guess just to keep me from winning. He hates to lose, but so do I and lets just say that it did not take me to long to get that one last kill and win. There is also armor across from sheild belt and I recomend you try getting that even more then invisibility as when he is invisiblae you can more or less see him still but when he has armor he is much harder to kill. And I like it most when he uses the rocket launcher as it is so slow that I can simply dodge the rockets and go at him head on and finish him off.

But non't get overconfident and careless, as Xan does not need much to come back and win.

Ive been up 10-0 and lost. But I was out of practice then.

So basically you should let him take the lead so his skill level will go down.
Then, when your behind by 5 or 10 kills, start playing well and flak him
