I just got an abit an8. It will turn on but not post. I have the bare minimum hooked up and tried different ram that I know works. I get the error code 9.0. which means something about the bios taking over booting job. I have cleared cmos and am out of ideas. any help would be appreciated. thanks

update your bios (1.6?). also make sure the power supply has at least 24AMPs on the 12v rail... should be listed on the side of the PS.

I found out last night that the installed bios probably doesn't support venice, so I am going to install my winchester and see if that takes care of it, then update by bios so I can use my venice, thanks

that is definitely the best bet, the Abit and the Epox boards did not have BIOS support for the Venice and SD straight of the bat, unlike te other mobo's so a BIOS flash should do it, i would say that would def sort out your problem.

Good Luck

Yeah. If you get it working with the winnie (it shoud work), flash the bios to the newest version, and then try the venice.
