hevnsnt

Lifer
Ok, dont flame me, I am setting up my first ATX board.. heh.

I bought a Sparkle PS that didnt have a powerswitch, I figured I could just use the one that was already in my case.. Well I popped open the PS, and I cant see where to switch goes.. Am I missing something obvious here!? Please help

um does the cases power switch plug into the motherboard, so when u turn it on the motherboard turns all parts on?

im guessing, i never built my own system

LOL.. are you trying to install an ATX power supply into an AT case? 🙂 Yes, you will need a new case, if that's the case.. hehe 😉

Ya, it sounds like you have an old AT case. You will want to buy a new ATX case to go along with the ATX motherboard and powersupply.

If your present AT case will allow you to mount a ATX motherboard, you can modify it by replacing the present AT power switch with an ATX momentary switch and it will come with the cable and connector to connect to your motherboard. I have modified several AT cases this way. The case must have holes for mounting ATX motherboard and an ATX
back plane insert, that matches the rear connectors on the motherboard. If your case doesn't have these provisions, you will have to purcase a ATX case. Radarman

If your case won't work then get the following case, which is recommended in the AnandTech July Value System Buyer's Guide:

Fong Kai FK-603 - $60

If you can't find that case you might look at the Fong Kai FK-604, which is availale at Best Buy.

I agree. 🙂 See if you can get it without power supply though, unless you have a good use for your now extra one 😉

Well here is what I found.. You can use the Reset switch as a power switch, but I just made my own from rat-shack parts worked great.. thanks fellas..
