I have a HP omnibook 2000 CT and it was recently 5 months ago gutted and replaced with all new factory parts including the monitor. been working great ever since till today everything that should be white is yellowish. If it hook up an external monitor all looks normal. I cant believe that the new LCD is going bad. HELP guys. I even formatted HD and all still looks same.

Is there a way to adjust the contrast? low contrast can look yellowish. (atleast my LCD does )

No thats not it. HP says the LCD is going bad and since im no longer in warranty a new one is $600 im screwed. anyon e have a spare LCD for extremely cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

don't want to be the one to deliver you the bad news.
but it'd be best for you not to replace that lcd.
it's just not cost effective.

it's probably better for you to either grab a new laptop
or use it with an external monitor... (as a desktop)

but if you must upgrade...
here's one place you might want to look into
i haven't dealt with them... so i donno how good they are.

if you scroll down you'll see...
F1320-69094 HP Omnibook 2000CT 12.1 Inch TFT LCD Screen $245
which is better than 600 that you got quoted for...
but then again... you'll have to replace it yourself.

You might be able to find an LCD for around $120 on eBay. Dell wanted $600 to replace the LCD on a laptop I got; I found a new LCD on eBay for $125 and replaced it myself, and it works just fine now; has been for several months, and still going strong.

It won't fit in the casing will it!?!?

I agree with hoihtah, sounds like a wise move to buy a new one unless you can spend less than $300.
