I recently had to RMA my mobo becuase it wouldn't turn on and now I have installed the new mobo and reinstalled everything and it'll boot and get to the BIOS screen and then shut off. I went into the BIOS options and looked under cpu options and it recognizes the cpu, so it doesn't look like that'd be it. What would you guys suggest doing?

In the bios, try "loading failsafe defaults", is the computer properly cooled? Are there any logs in the bios?

You should be using a power supply with at least 18 amps on the 12v+.

Your memory should be matching sticks for dual channel. OCZ 3700 512mb and Corsair 3500 512mb aren't close to matching and may be your problem. I would try using just one of them, if thats all you have. 3200 is the standard speed. The motherboard manual will show which slots to put the memory in and what not to do.

The power supply worked properly before I RMAd the mobo, as did the ram. I tried running the ram with just one stick of OCZ and that did the same thing. I was folling around in the bios and just upped the ram to see if anything would happen and for some reason the computer starting beeping like a siren....which according to MSI becuase the cpu was overheating. I turned it off and then tried turning it on again and the same thing happened. Now I took the heatsink out everything is blazing hot. I don't know why. Maybe I applied the thermal paste wrong? What should I do?

Repeating Beep (endless loop) -> Memory error. Check for improperly seated or missing memory.

The memory voltage is probably at 2.6 volts in the bios. You may want to up that to 2.75 volts. I'd check with the memory maker for the correct voltage.

WOW. I'm an idiot. I am almost certain I know what it is. I hooked up the heatsink to the cpu fan socket, but forgot to connect it to the psu. I guess if that's not it, I'll be back tomorrow. I really hope that I didn't burn the cpu.

Needless to say, that was the problem. Pluged the heatsync into the PSU and everything is fine now. Thanks for the help anyways guys.
