So we cant run shiot in W2k .. the virus hosed all the .exe stuff... and its not possible to use regedit in Dos for W2K.. so is there a way to edit the reg now???

You can install W2K into a different directory on the same hard drive. You can then boot to the 2nd copy of W2K and access the registry of the other install. Microsofts support website has instructions on how to install a shadow copy of NT and access the other OS's registry.

Is that sircam (or whatever it's called virus)??? If yes, you need to copy run32.exe into rundll32.exe and that should do it (I think).

thanks... we figured it out.. we did remote registry... our admin didnt want to take the chance of remote reg edit and bringing up the infected comp to the network, but i guess he figured it out.. thanks for the replies im sure this will be good to know in the future
