I just need to know if this is a good deal or not? Would I get at least almost similar performance to a real Mushkin rev3?

The Apacer has the same Infineon module as show in this picture.

Good stuff in the sense that it uses the Infineon or by the brand Apacer itself?

Btw, are there any "under-performing" Infineon-based memory you know of?

<< Apacer brand sticks fail a lot from what I have seen >>

Exactly my sentiments. I bought one before(it used IBM memory modules) and let's just say it didn't reach my expectations on the overclocking perspective. So now I'm very reluctant to get the Apacer brand. However, I've seen another one that uses the mighty Infineons so I was thinking if this is a good deal at all?

i once have apacer 256mb PC133mhz with micron chipset
it won't make CS2 and the worse thing it's it' has hard time to post at PC133mhz.
then i take it back and exchange it with infineon, man infineon rock

I've got apacer with infinion. The chips are the same markings as the mushkin rev 1.5.It's rated as cas 3 but i've been running it at cas 2 since i installed it.Excellent memory imho.

Ok, I got more info about the 256Mb Apacer stick, it's serial number is 71.84350.115. It's been confirmed that it indeed uses Infineon. Anyone has this same memory stick? Would you recommend it?

I have used Apacer memory w/ Infineon chips before, and it was good stuff.

Apacer = Acer

Thanks John, was this Apacer of yours the one that uses the HYB39S12800CT-7.5 Infineons? How high were you able to get with them at 2-2-2?

It has nothing to do with stability. the ram works great, very compatable with boards. It's just that when it goes bad, it really goes bad.

Of all the memory I have seen go bad (testable bad chips/hard errors) over 50% have been Apacer

For a time just about every monorail computer that came into the shop had a bad Apacer DIMM

So you're trying to tell me to stay away from Apacer RAM eventhough it uses Infineon chips?

P.S.
50% of failure is huge!

I have a stick of Apacer PC100 CAS2 that is really stable, occasionally has difficulty posting at PC133 CAS2, perfectly stable at PC133 CAS3.

Since thats the only one I've personally used, I can't say if the whole brand is good, but if Gunbuster has had a lot of them go bad, see if other people in the industry have a similar opinion. I'm a tech too, but I usually just deal with Micron or Infineon, and have a very low RMA rate with both.

Not sure of the part numbers but I have Apacer PC133 with infineon chips in my sons computer (originally in mine) and it has ran flawlessly. I only briefly had it at 133 because my CPU simply wouldn't do it. The only issue I ever has was with an MSI 815E Pro MB that didn't seem to like any of my RAM. It has worked in an Abit BH-6, Asus CUSL-2, Abit BX-133 RAID and briefly in my MSI K7T Turbo-R.
