I've got all the parts to my rig, but can't find a CPU. I need an AMD FX-53 939. All of the usual suspects, Newegg, ZipZoomFly, etc are sold out. Anyone know when the next fab shipment is due from AMD or a store that still has them in stock?

Not much luck unless you put one on back order i guess

ROFL checked resellerratings on those two bad boys. Both came up under TWO. Partspc didn't even tell which socket they used (they had two sets of fx-53's, obviously one's 940 and the others 939 but the distinction wasn't found by skimming quickly...I assume the athlon 64 logo is for 939 and the athlon fx logo is for 940 but it shouldn't be that hard). Oh well, must keep looking!

Parts PC & BZBoys are both chop shops. I doubt they have one in stock and I don't want to work with them anyway. A lot of these places won't update their page that things are out of stock until someone tries to buy one. They are also notorious for calling customers, bait & switch attempts, etc.

2buystore fairs slightly better, but I called and the don't have any FX-53 939s in stock. BTW, the part number is ADAFX53ASBOX, so if you see an FX-53 and you aren't sure if its 939 or 940, look for the part number. The 940 doesn't have the "AS" before "BOX" and "BOX" indicates whether its retail or not.

zipzoomfly and Monarch both expect to receive shipments by August 30 or the start of September. It sounds like we just missed the boat, the current run of 939s is sold out. There might be a few left, but the respectable shippers don't have them. We'll have to wait for AMD to fab a new lot of 1000 (the current FX fab size).

My recommendation is to preorder from Monarch, since they will fill preorders first when they get their new shipment. Zipzoomfly, on the other hand, is first come-first served.
