OK... I was looking around for a voodoo5 but after reviewing the card on a few sites the gf2 seems to kill it in speed which is all i care for.. I know there are several different manufacturers which one is the best in terms of image quality? 2d and 3d? I have heard from people on this board that the 2d on the gf2 is not to great compared to the radeon and v5. btw I am running a 17" sony monitor and will be using 1024x768 display for my desktop.. will I encounter any problems with the 2d image quality? Also I am debating on whether I should get a 32mb or 64mb version.... I just want to know what the extra ram is utilized for? I mainly play counter strike, and on occasions I play quake2:) if the extra ram is significant in the performance of counter strike game play ill consider dishing out the extra cash.

I would hang on and wait for the upcoming KYRO II that is the talk of the town right now. Do some reading and be convinced...
I myself like to have the power of 64 in case and the gainward have a rep for low price/outstanding cap

I would have to recommend the Hercules 3d Prophet 2 Ultra... In terms of image quality, I'm not entirely sure, but I'd say the best company for that would have to nVidia right now. If you mainly play CS and quake2, which use old game engines, the extra RAM probably wouldn't be used, but then again, I'm no video card expert. With your question about the 2d performance, nowadays the only things that use 2d are GUI's and the odd platform game, and while the GF2 mightn't have crash hot 2d quality, it is still fast and good enough for anything your computer can throw at it.

That's my 2 cents (or .9989 australian cents) worth
