Okay, so I'm building a computer for dad for fathers day which includes an msi board, 2x6800GT's in SLI and a watercooling kit, but I couldn't find a north bridge waterblock that would fit on the msi board while in SLI. So, I fooled around and came up with a solution that...well it has a snug fit but I just don't have time right now to add finesse.

So there is the waterblock which as been fit to allow the 6800GT in the no.2 sli slot to have clearence. Yes, I uesd a vga cooler and it should be fine except... I don't know where to find a converter to allow me to attach the tube for the vantec vga coolers to any of the non-coolermaster waterblocks as you can see from the picture, the vga waterblock does not seem to use the same size tubing. So the question is, where do I get materials for this before monday? Fish store, hardware store, I dunno, any ideas?

Kinda looks like its just meant for a 3/8" ID tube, I would imagine any 3/8" ID to 1/4" ID (or is it 3/8" that your holding, in which case I guess its 1/2" ID) adapter should work fine right, maybe worst case scenario you go with a short smidge of 3/8" on the block into a 1/4" adapter?

If thats the case I know home depot should have that stuff (probably have to ask somebody where it is though), a good hardware store should, a plumbing store too probably, and quite possibly a pet/fish store.

Thats a great idea! Those Zalman blocks are as cheap as a HSF. I'm going to order one today.

Thank you! Well, not too many games but he likes to makes sure that if he does that he doesn't drop frames. Now I'm happy with my 21"LCD with 1280 res with a 6600GT but he's running a 24" Dell that I got him so, he can use the extra sli power! =) I just hope that these cheap VGA coolers suffice as a fan replacement, don't need the extra cooling for OCing cause the sli should do it but I like a quieter solution.

Okay, but pay attention to the mounting I did, it's not simple. I first removed the fan from the board and tore it apart leaving the bottom metal plate which had a thermal pad that fit around the chip. Then I added the AS5 and put that metal piece back on and then AS5 the waterblock on top of the metal. Why? cause in SLI you can quite get the waterblock to completely cover the chip like you can on my asus a8n-sli deluxe so you need that mutilated fan for added cooling. Then you have to bend the metal mounting brackets on the waterblock so it fits on the north bridge mounting holes, will post pics of finsihed products in a few days.
