Need Help! AIW 8500 and fast writes

I can't seem to get fast writes to work! My bios supports them (8kha+) and i thought the 8500 did. Is it an AIW thing? Any help would be awesome!

Same prob here. I thought Cat3.0 was supposed to fix the incorrectly displayed "fast writes off" status.

I got a brand new 2k SP2 DX8.1 install with Cat 3.0, and the "fast writes" are always shown as off. When I click on "detect" the flag goes to "On" but turns off after reboot.

Any comments?

275/275 retail

Fast Writes doesn't effect Radeon cards from what I'm told/read. I enabled them in my bios, then turned on in Control Panel, but then after reboot, there off. Doesn't matter anyway. 🙂
