To whom it concerns,

My name is Syringer, I am currently a second year student at the University of California?Los Angeles with junior standing, majoring in mathematics and economics.

I have been in active pursuance of an actuarial career since the beginning of my college career, and feel that no other industry would suit me as well as one in the actuarial field. I am a member of our campus?s actuarial club, and have been preparing a great deal for my first upcoming exam in the spring time.

I can think of no better opportunity to further my pursuant in the actuarial field than to work at Watson Wyatt and gain hands on experience with fellow actuaries. While many similar companies have held information sessions at our campus?including Watson Wyatt?and through countless research of the many companies out there, I feel that Watson Wyatt offers the best opportunities for all those that have high hopes of becoming actuaries. From the work atmosphere, advancement possibilities, to the incredible programs provided for people to pass their exams, I have found no company that matches all that you offer, and am confident that the employees of Watson Wyatt feel the same way.

After realizing the high reputation that Watson Wyatt controls in the industry, I feel that with my motivation and dedication I can hold up this reputation to its fullest, and will do all that is in my power to fulfill whatever duties that are required of me.

I can guarantee that I will make as best use of your time as possible, and that it will be entirely worthwhile for us both. I can be contacted via phone (_________) or through e-mail (__________).

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Syringer

Wow, way to exercise every conjugation of "pursue"!

You might try "to whom it may concern".

Avoid the passive voice.. you wanna sound like a go getter. Example: "I have been in active pursuance"... try "I've actively pursued".

In general, avoid being stuffy and overly formal... be natural but professional.
