At work I want to plug in a wireless router to one of the ports on our Wired router but am not having any luck getting it to work... the Wired router is 192.168.1.1..... what do i need to set the wireless router to?

I don't want to replace the wired router with the wireless one... ijust want to add it on.
Thanks!

What's the DHCP range for the wired router? I'm guessing it's something like 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.199. Well, whatever it is, find out.

On your wireless Linksys (I have a WRT54GL connected to a D-Link DI-604)....

- Connect only your computer to the Linksys and nothing else
- Disable firewall
- Disable DHCP
- Set connection type to Automatic if that's available (where you choose stuff like Static, Dynamic, PPPoE, etc.)
- LASTLY, set the Linksys's IP to something within the range of your other router's DCHP range
- Connect other router into one of the LAN ports on the Linksys (this means nothing is in the WAN port)
- Connect computer to another LAN port on the Linksys
- Reboot Linksys

Wrong...

a DHCP range is a pool of addresses that is dynamically assigned to hosts. If you set the static address of the Linksys inside the DCHP range, you will have an [eventual] address conflict with a client.

You need to set the Linksys OUTSIDE the DHCP range but INSIDE the subnets addressing range.
