hello all...here is my setup

4 comptuers xp pro
1 server 2003

dell switch
linksys router

this network is workgrouped and running well. i now have dsl and an actiontec gt701 modem from qwest. i thought it would be plug in play into the router, but it is not working.

both router and modem have default ip address set to 192.168.0.1

if i change the router to 192.168.1.1 then the internet work on all computers but now the workgroup does not recognize any computers. router is set on DHCP. i don't know what to do from here. help

So you have a seperate dell switch as well as the linksys router and the modem? In that case you don't need the linksys anymore. Just plug the actiontec and all the PCs straight into the switch and do all your routing with the actiontec.
