Need help accessing files on a drive

I have a laptop drive that came out of a Presario laptop. The board went bad and was going to get the data off the drive for a friend. Its now hooked up to an external drive to access. However when I try and access anything in the Documents and Settings\ User\My Documents I get access denied. I thought I would just need to take ownership but when I click on the folder then properties I dont see a "Security? tab? What Im I missing here??

Maybe you have Simple File Sharing enabled. Try disabling that if you haven't already done so.
