hi...I currently own a tbird 800 with a asus A7V rev 1.02 (not the 133 or 266 ddr brand...just a plain A7V with just sdr 133 mem support) and i want to upgrade to a 1.2 tbird. Now on the asus site they say that the A7V supports up to and including 1 gig tbird but the jumpers on the A7V for the clock multiplier go all the way up to 12.5x so i was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to use a 1.2 on a A7V...And if it is,i was also wondering if its possible to use a 1.2 266 downclocked at 200 fsb...the 1.2 266 is actually 15$ cheaper than the 1.2 200 version at my computer store and i also heard something about them producing less heat and being more effective because of an Axia thingy?...anyway,so help would be appreciated...thanks

If the multiplier is there then there is no reason why you couldnt run a 1.2. The multiplier is not locked on the 1.2s so you could run it at 12x100=1200Mhz.

AXIA is the stepping code of AMDs most overclockable chips. Any chip that has an AXIA code, regardless of its rated speed is pretty much guarenteed to hit 1.4+. Not all 1.2s are AXIA though, you might get lucky. As for producing less heat, no that's not true.

Yes you can run a 1.2 AXIA and it can be a 266 FSB version, I run the same combo. The 12.5X multiplier is in fact a 13X multiplier so it should boot up at 1300.
