So i got my new mobo (nforce2) with the built in audio, and im thinking about getting a new soundcard.

Which soundcards do you reccomend that offer either an external box (extigy, audigy 2 w/external box, gametheaterXP) or some means of an easy headphone hookup?

I have the Klipsch v2-400's and thought about upgrading my cp to the new CP1, but decided id prolly be better just buying a soundcard with one.

Depends on your uses of the soundcard.... gaming, DVD, music etc.

Audigy is the best choice for gaming with headphones IMO.

Audigy will be the best "all rounder" then IMO. If you didn't need the external box, then I'd recommend the M-audio Revolution 7.1 - excellent card when it comes to audio quality.

I have a Nforce2 MB, I honestly think the sound the produce is better then an Audigy. But, I don't have equipment to test this. The 3d support won't be as good as an Audigy. If you must upgrade, I recommend a gametheater xp. I had one, beautiful sound, and the external box was sweet! For the price you cannot beat it. I think they ever have a new GT XP for their 7.1, which is overkill, but nice none the less :)

It depends if the NForce2 motherboard is one with the Soundstorm onboard sound, which is quite good, or without (just AC97).

Yea, i have a Soltek 75FRN-L which just has the regular 6 channel audio (AC97) and not the soundstorm.
